Excursion to the Gardens of Dessau-Wörlitz
(UNESCO world heritage)
Wörlitz, a charming little town, has a history of more than 1.000 years. It became famous in the second half of the eighteenth century when one of the earliest and certainly most beautiful landscape parks of Continental Europe was formed here in the direct vicinity of the town. From the very beginning the garden was open to the public, serving not only as a place for recreation but primarily for education. The Wörlitz Park is part of the Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz, which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in November 2000. The whole Garden Kingdom is situated in the midst of the Biosphere Reserve of the Middle Elbe River in the close vicinity of the city of Lutherstadt Wittenberg and the Bauhaus city Dessau. |

Dinner at Püchau Castle
Situated in the periphery of Leipzig, the park and castle of Püchau look back to a more than 1000 year old history. The first historic record of Püchau castle was a visit by the German King Heinrich I. in 924. The present castle dates back to the 17th century and got its shape during renovation in the 19th century. The impressive and spacious english-style park with many rare plants inspires to promenade and relax.
